Neo Soul Queens

Hi Everybody! check the title and you know what’s up! Lately I was suprised by some nice new Neo Soul singers, all female, YEAH!!

Wanna start of with sister Lily K: “Chicago based neo-soul/jazz singer, Lili K. has been building quite a name for herself since the release of her firstproject, ‘A Prelude To Hello’, in July of 2011. The charismatic 21 year old songstress, originally from Milwaukee, WI, USA, has a smooth and sultry voice that countered well by the hip hop driven rhythms that lie within her production.”

She comes with a brand new EP called Metal Petals, together with producer Peter Cottontale they made a album worthwhile listening to.

You can find it on Lili K on Bandcamp for more info check her site out!

Next up is my lady Kat Webb, I found her on this site , what a lovely lady, with a nice clean sound. She just comes with a new album “A Better Picture” I quote: “The release of “A Better Picture” (November 2012) marks the first time Kat presents to her audience her own original music. Seasoned soul veterans Christian Ver Halen & Jesse Fischer co-produced, and Grammy-winners were involved in its production. It draws on the numerous musical styles in Webb’s background, including some folk from her home state of Texas, some blues from the South, and some New Jack Swing from her new home on the East Coast.”

One of my favorite songs is “Keep on”, with the brilliant Camp Lo touch in it.. Kat Webb – Keep On You like it? check out some more on her site or like her on Facebook!

Last but certainly not least my girl Tracy Cruz, from the Phillipines but for a long time living in the US of A, she brings the smoothness back in Neo Soul. Universoul Symphony is her latest work of art, with the banger “Love Galaxy

reviews say: “Tracy Cruz proves to be a confident lyricist on her new CDUniversoul Symphony. Her songwriting is infused with a maturity that belies her relative youth. Take the song “Flowers and Candy”:  this track describes the arc of the joy of new love, the frustration and confusion that accompanies love that grows stale and the determination to put the effort forth to make the relationship work. The nuances in the songwriting are matched by the musical arrangement.” She’s young and still in a growing process, but she’ll end up a star! check her music out on soundcloud or like her on Facebook
